Congratulations to the 2025 Rugart Family Award Winners

Four Wistar researchers were recently recognized with the Rugart Family Awards for their Research in Progress presentations. Predoctoral trainees Maya Foster & Andrew Patterson, along with postdoctoral fellows Christopher Chen, Ph.D., & Alison Yu, Ph.D., received the awards during a ceremony on September 12. The awards are presented annually by the Rugart family to support the research of young Wistar scientists in honor of the late Dr. Karl F. Rugart, Jr., an obstetrics and gynecology physician and longtime supporter of Wistar. The winners are voted on by their peers in recognition of exceptional presentations of their in-progress scientific projects. This year’s awards were presented by Wistar professor Dr. Katherine Aird, who once received the inaugural award herself in 2015 while working as a postdoctoral student at Wistar.
